Wide Bay Getaway is a tranquil glamping retreat on the Fraser Coast situated 10 minutes from Maryborough, created by long-time locals Steve “Macca” and Nickey who fell in love with the area’s historic charm and natural beauty. With a vision to create the ultimate bush camp, Macca transformed a rugged, tree-filled property of 161 acres into a welcoming escape for travellers.

The park features unpowered sites (powered sites coming late 2025), tiny home accommodation, and scenic deck sites overlooking the dams. Facilities include a bar, pizza oven, firepits, and a modern amenities block. There is also Macca’s Pavilion which has been set up for your entertainment and at times accommodates live music. Whether you’re enjoying quiet moments in nature or gathering around the fire, Wide Bay Getaway offers the perfect balance of comfort and rustic charm.

Wide Bay Getaway is exactly what we were looking for quiet, relaxing, and full of character, the scenic deck sites overlooking the dams were great. The bar and pizza oven were a great surprise, and the live music made our stay extra special. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true glamping bush escape.

Wide Bay Getaway is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful surroundings and the warm welcome from Macca and Nickey. The bush tracks were perfect for our morning walks, and we loved cooling off with a swim in Jumpo Creek. The firepit at Stargazers Place was the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine under a sky full of stars. Our dog had a blast at Dogsville, which was such a great touch for pet owners. Can’t wait to come back
